A former commander of the UK's air and space warfare centre will provide findings next month on how the government-funded institute can optimally help the scope of official artificial intelligence goals in defense, national security and intelligence.
Organizational Refocusing
The organization's leader, a ex-Amazon UK executive, confirmed that 78 different research projects at the 440-staff institute have been closed, transferred out or completed because they aren't consistent with the new direction.
Workplace Issues
The center has faced workplace difficulties since last year as workers demonstrated against reforms, culminating in a collection of workers submitting a formal grievance to the relevant regulatory body.
The center's administration stated that these whistleblower claims were externally examined by a neutral third party that found them to have be unsubstantiated.
