It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
