Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American entertainer Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
