Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
