Iran Claims Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
