Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new locally engineered interceptor drone to reinforce its aerial protection systems. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with an additional eleven preparing to set up production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a nationally created technology called “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Recent Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president described Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “deliberate, calculated and wicked” after six individuals lost their lives and many others injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Air raid sirens sounded in the capital just after midnight on Friday, with Shahed drones quickly heard overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukraine's aerial protection units.

Zelenskyy stated the nation was hit by 430 drones and multiple missiles. The deceased were at home in a block of flats on the capital's left bank during the strike. Dozens of additional structures sustained damage, including the Azerbaijani embassy.

International Protest Following Diplomatic Compound Destruction

The Azerbaijani government said it delivered a formal objection to Moscow's diplomatic representative on Friday following the destruction at its diplomatic compound. An explosion from a Russian Iskander missile demolished a section of the compound's boundary wall and caused significant destruction to the embassy grounds, officials from Baku stated. No one was hurt, and an official representative said the Kyiv embassy was continuing to operate.

Russian Aerial Bomb Manufacturing Experiences Major Expansion

Moscow plans to produce as many as 120,000 glide bombs this year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official disclosed, including 500 of an innovative, longer-range version that can reach additional urban centers. Moscow's military were firing 200 to 250 glide bombs per day, with last month’s daily average standing at about 170, based on defence ministry data.

Russia’s Black Sea port of the port city halted for a period oil exports on Friday – representing 2% of worldwide oil production – following a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Ukraine’s general staff stated its forces had launched Neptune cruise missiles and deployed various types of attack UAVs in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to diminish the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukrainian forces separately targeted an oil refinery in the Saratov area and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels overnight.

Russia’s second-largest energy company Lukoil said on Friday it has been in talks with interested parties regarding its international holdings following last month’s sanctions from the UK and the US and the collapse of a deal with commodity trader Gunvor. “Final arrangements will be announced once conclusive negotiations are completed and required authorizations are secured,” Lukoil stated.

Ukrainian President Plans Diplomatic Trip to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, Madrid, on Tuesday to meet with lawmakers a day after his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. The Ukrainian president will convene with deputies from all houses of parliament during his visit, the Spanish statement confirmed.
