Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Car Crash
The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California aged 55.
His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.
The celebrated game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"We are facing a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
